The Boise State Alumni Association’s Broncos Out and About program is devoted to providing Boise State alumni and friends with a chance to keep active – physically and mentally. Do you want to explore the great outdoors with other passionate Bronco alumni, friends, fans and families? Join us this summer and fall as we explore new ways to bring Broncos together for fun engagement activities.
Our Next Adventure — Stand Up Paddleboarding
Friday, August 17
Let’s learn to stand up paddle board together! After our lesson, we will gather at Clairvoyant, a nearby brewery, for snacks and cold beverages. Wear your blue and orange — there will be a photo opportunity! A signed waiver on site is required.
The lesson includes an instructor for a small group of 8-9 participants (we may have multiple groups), board, paddle and PFD.
Time: 5:45–8:30 p.m.
Location: Meet at Idaho River Sports (601 North Whitewater Park Blvd. Boise, ID 83702) next to Quinn’s Pond.
Skills you will learn:
- Become familiar with stand up paddleboarding, equipment, and proper clothing
- Effective paddling skills, balance, position and recovery techniques
- Introduce the rewarding aspects of SUP by highlighting the benefits
- Introduce a new way to get a total body workout.
5:45 p.m. – Meet at Idaho River Sports next to Quinn’s Pond
6 p.m. – Small group lessons begin
7:30 p.m. – Social time at Clairvoyant (2800 West Idaho St., Boise, ID 83702). Snacks will be provided, beverages are no host.
7:30-8:30 p.m. – Social time at Clairvoyant-snacks provided, beverages are no host. Event ends at 8:30 p.m.
